Learn How to Use Behavioral Interviewing to Select the Right Candidate for the Job
According to Forbes, the cost of a bad hire is at least 30 percent of the employee’s first-year earnings, not to mention the morale and productivity impacts that often cost more than the financial loss. For a small/medium-sized company, a potential five-figure investment in the wrong person is a clear threat to the business.
In our August Talent Strategies Workshop, we will take a closer look at behavioral interviewing and how it can help hiring managers select the right person for the job. Tania Garcia Richardson, senior manager of Global Talent Acquisition for Red Hat, Inc., will lead the workshop. She will explain how to use behavioral interviewing, as well as selection criteria and techniques for effective onboarding. Garcia Richardson also will discuss other key aspects of the hiring process:
- The importance of hiring the right people
- The interview process
- The dos and don’ts of interviewing
- The role of the hiring manager
In nearly seven years at Red Hat, Garcia Richardson has built and led multiple teams across Leadership Development and Talent Acquisition. She currently is charged with driving the development, alignment, and innovation of Red Hat’s global early talent and corporate hiring strategies. Garcia Richardson partners with cross-functional leaders across the enterprise to understand their deepest challenges and to address those challenges in transformative and comprehensive ways. Prior to joining Red Hat, she created/co-created multiple foundational leadership courses to address first line management transitions, organizational influence challenges, and presentation and behavioral interviewing skills.
