Welcome Wake County Public School System’s New Superintendent Join us as we welcome the new Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) Superintendent Dr. Robert P. Taylor. The reception provides a networking opportunity for our new superintendent and fellow business and community leaders. Get to Know Dr. Robert P. Taylor Before briefly serving as state superintendent of education in his home state of Mississippi, Dr. Taylor spent two years with the NC Department of Public Instruction as deputy state superintendent supervising federal programs, the NC Virtual Public School, school operations and nutrition, mission and vision development, and more. Dr. Taylor also served as superintendent of Bladen County Schools (BCS) for nearly a decade. He was named the 2017 Sandhills RESA Superintendent of the Year and the 2018 NCAAHPERD Superintendent of the Year among many other accolades from NC State and the NC Child Nutrition Association. Before joining BCS, Dr. Taylor worked as an assistant superintendent in Clinton City Schools. He has also worked as a principal, assistant principal, and middle school teacher for Cumberland County Schools since receiving his bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi, a master’s degree in school administration, and a doctorate in educational leadership from Fayetteville State University.
