Efforts to Address Systemic Racism Adrienne Cole, president and CEO of the Raleigh Chamber said it clearly, “There is NO place in our community or society for systemic racism.” This sentiment has been echoed from all corners of our community. Like others, we all are witnessing outrage for the recent tragic deaths of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd. Amid the feelings of outrage, there is no sense of hopelessness. The sentiments expressed are of determination to address interpersonal and structural racism. Many of us are struggling with “what to do next” and “how can we support” the elimination of systemic racism. In honoring the victims of racism, both past and present, the Triangle DEI Alliance is committed to support our community in advocating and building our fluency in the areas of anti-racist practices, programs, and policies. As the voice of our business community, we recognize that addressing the evolving demographic changes in our region is key to growth and sustainability. We are proud to initiate and support efforts across the Triangle that promote diversity, equity, and inclusivity among our businesses.
