Our speaker will be Machelle Baker Sanders, Secretary of the NC Department of Commerce. Governor Roy Cooper appointed Secretary Machelle Baker Sanders to lead the NC Department of Commerce in 2021, enlisting her experience as a former Administration Secretary, her strong background as a business leader, and her extensive knowledge of what it takes to build a globally competitive workforce. Sec. Sanders is a strong supporter of diversity, equity, and inclusion, believing that “you can’t be what you can’t see.” Attendees will learn more about Sec. Sanders’ approach to advancing North Carolina’s economy and ensuring it is one that works for all people of this state.
