Take the Steps Now to Be Prepared Should a Disaster Impact Your Business

Our newest Chamber program, Small Business Hot Topics, offers engaging discussions and lessons designed to enhance your small business. At our next event, you will hear two presentations about disaster preparedness and recovery. You will have the opportunity to attend both.

Learn from the U.S. Small Business Administration about developing a plan to prepare your small business for a disaster. The presentation will highlight how different types of disaster can impact a business. You also will learn, in the disaster recovery presentation, what to do immediately after a disaster regarding employees, customers, suppliers, creditors, and insurance. The U.S. SBA also will cover how your small business can apply for an SBA disaster loan in the case of any emergency.

In our other presentation, you will hear from Charles Cline, senior systems engineer and Cloud Services team lead for Arch Capital Services Inc. Cline will show you how to identify areas of potential information risk and ways to reduce that risk from cyber security threats. He will discuss these topics that are critical for protecting your business:

Defining cyber security
The importance of securing information through best cyber security practices
Identifying information that your small business should secure
Identifying the types of cyber threats against small businesses
Small business risk management
Small business best practices for guarding against cyber threats

Cline has more than 20 years of experience designing and implementing technology solutions. He helps people and businesses create innovative ways to achieve their organizational goals.
