This event is sold out. Economic Development Forum: Exploring the Triangle of the Future Join our discussion about the future of Wake County and the Research Triangle region. What will our community look like in 20 years with strong, sustained growth? How will our economy evolve during the next two decades? How are our current community fundamentals leading us into this future? We will explore these questions with an eye toward technology and innovation, demographics, our economy, education system, and infrastructure. We will also talk about how we support equitable economic development and how to build a strong and diverse workforce. Our keynote speaker is Ted Abernathy, the managing partner of Economic Leadership LLC, a consultancy that is currently working in more than a dozen states to develop economic and workforce strategies. Abernathy has 35 years of experience in directing economic development and workforce development programs. From 2000 – 2008, he served as executive vice president and COO for the Research Triangle Regional Partnership. During his eight years directing RTRP, he helped generate 65,000 new jobs and nearly $10 billion in investment. He speaks to groups across the country and internationally on many topics including the economy, the future of work, trendspotting the future, and organizational leadership. RSVP by May 8 Questions?
