Learn Leadership Lessons from Donald Gintzig Enjoy the opportunity to hear from Donald Gintzig, president and CEO of WakeMed Health & Hospitals. He will share WakeMed’s calling and its nearly 60 years of service to the community, along with the importance of company culture and mission. During this interactive chat with the head of WakeMed, you’ll discover the lessons that he has learned are ones that you can apply to your own career and company. You also will have the opportunity to ask Gintzig questions. Gintzig will discuss his leadership journey, which includes his time serving as a commanding officer and reservist in the U.S. Navy. A retired Rear Admiral, Gintzig served as acting deputy surgeon general of the Navy for the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery. He also has served as CEO/COO for hospitals across the country. Gintzig will talk about the characteristics that make a great leader. “Leadership needs to be something more than the stereotypical picture of what a leader looks like,” he told us.
