In this Opening Session, he will demonstrate how health and the social determinants of health are foundational to workforce strength, organizational stability, and long-term economic success—and how employers can lead meaningful change.

RTA 2026 Leadership Briefing and Field Visit to Annapolis and Suburban Maryland

Early arrival and networking begins Monday, July 20 at 11 a.m.
Programming from Monday, July 20 at Noon until Tuesday, July 21 at 2 p.m.

On July 20 and 21, 2026, the Regional Transportation Alliance (RTA) will visit the Annapolis and Suburban Maryland area. We will have an opportunity to learn about and/or visit various examples of multimodal infrastructure and priorities, including BRT, junior freeways, ramp management, transit policy, and more.

RTA thanks our honorary chairs for the Maryland tour – NCDOT Chief Engineer Patrick Norman and NCDOT Deputy Secretary for Multi-Modal Transportation Julie White – for their leadership and partnership, as we learn together for the future of our region and state.

**Registration includes meals and hotel only. Transportation to Maryland is not included.**

Purpose and impact are woven into our next speaker Jessie Hathcock’s DNA. For over 20 years, she has led in education, nonprofits, and the business community - always with a heart for helping people reach their innate potential.

As President of The Loading Dock and founder of Scale Simple, Jessie guides leaders and organizations to align their purpose with their strategy, unlocking growth that’s both conscious and sustainable. Her work centers on stewardship, belonging, and ushering in a new reality where people and businesses come fully alive.

Networking 101 is our quarterly professional development series designed to equip small business owners, entrepreneurs, and emerging leaders with practical tools to grow their businesses and strengthen their professional networks. This next interactive workshop reframes time management as a values-driven practice, not a productivity race. Jessie will help participants move from reactive busyness to intentional design.
