The newly created annual Day Trip provides Chamber members an opportunity to closely examine a specific, targeted project or policy that a municipality is implementing well. The trip provides a comprehensive, interactive experience for travelers to see firsthand how other areas are tackling issues similar to ours, allowing them to bring back new perspectives to guide our own work at home. In 2025, we will visit Charlotte, NC to explore how the city approaches uptown vibrancy by investing in targeted projects, leveraging their existing infrastructure, and creating new partnerships and opportunities for collaboration. Attendees on the Day Trip to Charlotte can expect a full day of conversations with Charlotte’s elected officials, government staff, and uptown businesses, along with interactive field visits through their uptown core. Programming will allow travelers to visit Charlotte and return to Raleigh in a single day.
