DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANY PROCEDURE!

Dr. Dunn was my physician. I do not recommend her what so ever. She has horrible bedside manor and is extremely unprofessional. During a procedure where I was suppose to be sedated. I was awake crying in pain, my blood pressure was also elevated to 150/90 (my baseline is 110/75), yet she informed me that I was not in pain. I was just experiencing "pressure". After the procedure she didn't communicate with me that it was over. She left and had her assistants wrap everything up. I had to ask to see her after my procedure, in which she was arrogant and did not apologize. I get tears thinking about what a horrible experience this physician made it for me. I left the clinic, feeling alert and oriented x4, not the typical scenario you see when someone gets their wisdom teeth taken out. I spoke to a pharmacist and she informed me that I should have never even remember the procedure based on the medication I was given. I am a cardiothoracic nurse at Duke, and I have never seen a doctor care so little about their patient, and to tell someone they weren't in pain as tears are rolling down their face.

EDIT: I JUST FOUND OUT I WAS OVERCHARGED BY AT LEAST $500. MY ORIGINAL QUOTE FOR SEDATION AND ALL WAS A MAX OF $600 PER TOOTH. I HAD THREE EXTRACTED AND WAS CHARGED ALMOST 3K FOR THE SURGERY. MINIMUM QUOTE WAS $800, MAX WAS $1800. DO NOT USE THIS SURGEON.

While originally I found the Staff helpful, they made me uncomfortable going in, didn't explain much to me at all, told me nothing about my anesthetic that they were using. As I'm going under I'm hearing screaming from other rooms, the associate who was helping me (who couldn't even figure out how to get the nasal mask on my face and kept tripping over things and ripping them off of my face/chest) told me that "was normal for some people (to be screaming at the end)." It took an hour for them to get started after plugging me up to everything, two of the associates actually fought in front of me, one of them saying "don't be nervous we do this multiple times per day" and the other telling her "not to trivialize my experience" which was simply unprofessional. I woke up half way through the surgery and they obviously noticed and ignored me. I can understand not stopping the surgery simply because I woke up, but they didn't even speak to me as I'm screaming on the table (like I heard before I went in). Not an "it's okay, we are almost done, stay calm" nothing.
When I left they gave me one extra gauze pad (and told me to change my gauze every 30 minutes, so I had to go buy extra gauze) and two ice packs that lasted 5 minutes each and they said 20 mins on, 20 mins off for as long as I could. The post op instructions were an absolute joke, they told me by day 2 to "go get myself a hamburger" which obviously doesnt match whay any doctor had told me)
I had to go get more ice packs. After cinsulting other drs they said I shouldve recieved a small syringe like spray bottle to clean the wounds but literally i got two malfunctioning ice packs and two tiny balls of gauze. Within two hours the bleeding was so profuse I had to change the gauze every 15-20 minutes to stop my mouth from filling up with blood and my stitches had come out. I called the then still open office and nobody answered. I didn't get to sleep that night because of the bleeding and not being able to sleep with gauze in according to their instructions. They told me I should be able to eat soft foods, and I couldn't even though I had to be able to to take the meds they gave me (which when I mentioned that the pain killers weren't working they suggested I "take more motrin" which I had already explained to them that I was allergic to). Called the next morning and explained how bad the bleeding still was and the swelling (which they told me would go down by morning, then when I went in again told me would get worse for a week before getting better, even though my recovery time was originally supposed to be "three days"). The bleeding was less than it had been when I went in to my check up, but I explained that I was having to empty my mouth of blood more often than I was even supposed to have to remove the gauze and they didn't take me seriously at all. They gave me a list of things to watch for and when red flags came up and I called them they said it was totally normal, contradicting themselves yet again. By the time I left the consultation the morning after (because I had lost all of my stitches the day before and the pain was unbearable, not like "oh I'm in pain unbearable" but for all of you women out there, worse than cervical dilation. And that crap hurts. They acted like I was fishing for drugs even though I obviously wasn't, why would I go to a 3k surgery for drugs I could get by telling my Dr I had a headache? That weren't even working at that. I could've gotten the surgery done for half that price but opted for the "more expensive must mean better trained and more reliable" option which was obviously my mistake. They sent me home from my consultation the next morning with absolutely nothing but "take more of this medicine you're allergic to because even though we told you yesterday to call us if any of this happened we just like to contradict ourselves."

Tl;dr obviously undertrained staff, horribly overpriced, didn't take anything I said seriously and acted as though I was either lying to them about everything or simply ignorant (even though I knew what I was talking about) plus I woke up half way through an Iv sedation surgery! Don't go here if you value your teeth, your dignity, or your ability to go back to work any time soon.

The dentist Dr. Aziz is great!! The front office staff not so much. I had my evaluation on April 8, They were supposed to send it to my insusrance company for a determination. Well...today is July 21, still no determination. After repeated calls they still cannot figure out where to send the evaluation. Where are they sending my information???? Last time I talked with them they asked me to find out where they are supposed to send the info. Is it not there job to contact the insurace company and get that information? When I talked with my insurance company regarding this issue they stated they would have to "re-educate" this office. That was a month ago. I guess some people just don't learn.

Time to search for another dentist.
