Discover How Tax Law Changes Impact Your Bottom Line
Business owners and their employees want to know how tax reforms will affect them. Our next Business Basics Workshop will explore the impact of The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, passed in December.
You will learn from Katie Lawson, an experienced taxation attorney. Join us for this interactive workshop at the Chamber on Thursday, Sept. 20. Lawson will address these important topics:
- New personal tax brackets
- Personal exemptions and standard deductions
- Corporate taxes
- Deductions (what can and cannot be written off)
- Pass-through businesses
- Alternative Minimum Tax
Lawson will explain the key changes in the new tax law and will answer your questions. Her main focus will be on federal tax issues, but she can cover some state issues as time allows.
Lawson is the managing partner at The Law Office of Katie A. Lawson, PLLC. She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a B.S. in Accounting. Lawson attended NC Central Law School. After completing law school, she went on to get her Masters of Law in Taxation at the University of Washington Law School and began her legal career in 2008 practicing tax and corporate law.
Her passion is helping to create and grow small businesses to their full potential. Lawson regularly conducts seminars, in collaboration with the IRS and local community colleges, to educate small businesses and individuals about tax and corporate matters. The focus of her practice is to provide tailor-made, targeted solutions for tax and corporate needs.
