Have you ever wondered what kind of impact you have on elections in Raleigh, North Carolina, and nationwide?

Get answers to these questions and more at the next Young Professionals Network event. Hear from Joe Stewart of the North Carolina FreeEnterprise Foundation, a nonpartisan research and analytics organization, and Emily Ziegler, vice president of Government Affairs for the Greater Raleigh Chamber. Attendees will:

  • Discover the potential impacts on election outcomes of voters ages 23 - 40 in Raleigh and nationwide
  • Become aware of local issues and candidates on the 2016 November ballot
  • Learn where and how you can register and vote

 

About the Speakers
Prior to joining NCFEF as executive director in June 2013, Joe Stewart worked in government, politics, issue advocacy, and association management for more than 25 years in Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and North Carolina. His career began in fundraising, with a job in the UNC-Chapel Hill Development Office.

The North Carolina FreeEnterprise Foundation provides innovative educational programs, non-partisan political research, and objective analysis to foster informed civic involvement, develop an understanding of the free enterprise economy, and strengthen North Carolina’s prosperous business environment. The North Carolina FreeEnterprise Foundation provides objective, nonpartisan research and analysis to help North Carolina’s business community stay ahead of the curve. 

Emily Ziegler is the vice president of Government Affairs for the Greater Raleigh Chamber, a position she has held since December 2012. In her role, Ziegler manages local, state, and federal government relations for the Chamber and its members. Prior to joining the Chamber in 2010, she worked for the North Carolina Retail Merchants Association as the director of Legislative Research and Policy and as an account executive on the government affairs team at Capstrat. 

Ziegler started her career at NCFREE, where she conducted political data analysis for all statewide and federal races in North Carolina. During this time she was published as a co-researcher and writer for the Almanac of North Carolina Politics: Fall 2006 Forecasts.
