Breakfast & Learn Event Thursday March 30th

Protecting Your Organization from Ransomware, Phishing and Viruses When: Thursday, March 30, 2017 7:45 AM – Breakfast 8:00 AM – Welcome and Presentation 9:15 AM – Q&A 9:30 AM – Tour of WingSwept offices (optional) Where: WingSwept 800 Benson Road Garner, NC 27529 wingsweptfacilityuse400 If you haven’t kept up with the rapid growth of ransomware, it might be easy to dismiss it. But, small and medium-sized businesses can no longer take a “they won’t come after us” approach. Consider the following statistics from Kaspersky Lab’s IT Security Risks Report 2016: 42% of small and medium-sized businesses were hit by ransomware in the last 12 months 32% of them paid the ransom One in five never got their files back, even after paying 67% of those affected lost part or all of their corporate data See, the criminals know that most large companies are now investing the money and time to make sure they are protected from ransomware attacks while small and medium-sized businesses are still very vulnerable. And the ransom continues to rise. Early on it was averaging $300. Now it is climbing toward the $2,000 mark. It’s hard to put an exact figure on it because it is most often requested in Bitcoin. The current average is 1-2 Bitcoin and the conversion rate as of February 22 is $1,120 to one Bitcoin. The good news is that you don’t have to back up the Brinks truck to afford a strong defense. By building a plan, implementing best practices and training your employees you can protect your organization from cybercrime. Join us for this highly informative presentation as our Engineering Manager Jon Sparks offers insight on how to avoid paying thousands of dollars from a ransomware attack through strengthened security, boosting recoverability and training employees.
